Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Bookbinder to join our dynamic production team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining bindery equipment, ensuring production requirements are met with a high level of quality and efficiency. The Bookbinder will set up, run, and troubleshoot machines while providing leadership to Technicians assigned to the production process. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot saddle stitchers, loop stitchers, side stitchers, and corner stitchers to meet job specifications.
  • Ensure optimal stitching for booklets, magazines, brochures, and other printed materials.
  • Monitor and maintain perfect binders with stitching (if applicable) for enhanced durability.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assigned machines to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process, ensuring industry standards are met.
  • Optimize machine speed while maintaining accuracy and minimizing waste.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to avoid delays in production.
  • Direct and manage assigned Technicians, including training, monitoring performance, and reviewing job duties.
  • Provide feedback to management on machine performance and production challenges.
  • Participate in employee evaluations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Handle confidential information responsibly in accordance with company policie.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, visitors, and employees.
Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating bindery stitchers (saddle stitchers, loop stitchers, side stitchers, corner stitchers) or perfect binders with stitching.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, overtime, and respond to manufacturing inquiries when needed.
Compensation: $26.25 - $27.75 per hour
