Job Summary:
Join our team as an on-call truck driver, delivering mail and packages between state agencies using light to medium-duty commercial vehicles. This role involves ensuring timely pickups and deliveries, operating equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities:
- Pickup and deliver mail between state agencies while ensuring timely and accurate service.
- Regularly lift, move, and transfer items weighing up to 75 lbs. Load/unload items (up to 1,000 lbs) using equipment like dock lifts and truck lift gates.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain mileage logs, and ensure the safety of mail and packages during transport.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service, answering questions and offering accurate information.
- Collaborate with others to maintain security and efficiency while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of driving experience with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
- Physical capability to repeatedly lift/move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varying hours and shifts as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a fragrance-free and professional work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service experience (6+ months preferred).
- Experience operating hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and handheld tracking devices
Salary Range:
Schedule: On-Call | Pay: $19.98 - $22.98 Hourly
