Job Summary:
The Cost Accounting Manager will lead the cost management and budgeting functions, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, timely grower payments, and adherence to GAAP. This role includes overseeing a costing team, driving process improvements, and delivering financial insights to support company objectives. The position requires managing budgets, forecasts, and audits, while fostering collaboration across departments.
The Cost Accounting Manager will lead the cost management and budgeting functions, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, timely grower payments, and adherence to GAAP. This role includes overseeing a costing team, driving process improvements, and delivering financial insights to support company objectives. The position requires managing budgets, forecasts, and audits, while fostering collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the costing accounting team and processes.
- Oversee inventory costing, general ledger accuracy, and cost allocation.
- Perform standard cost rolls, budget planning, and forecasting.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable business insights.
- Prepare financial reports, metrics, and presentations for management.
- Support audits (external, internal, and compliance) and ensure SOX/J-SOX adherence.
- Facilitate company-wide annual budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to optimize performance.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years in costing/budgeting; 3+ years in supervisory roles.
- Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, expertise in production costing and inventory valuation, and experience with SOX/J-SOX compliance.
- Certifications: CPA or related certification preferred.
- Tools: Microsoft D365 experience a plus.
