Summary:
Operate and maintain form, fill, and seal packaging equipment to ensure the production of high-quality retail packages that meet specifications and schedules. Achieve daily production goals while promptly reporting any issues related to product quality, inventory, equipment maintenance, or scheduling to management. Supervise assigned team members, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with procedures. In the event of absence, a trained employee will assume duties as outlined in SOP 4.1.2.5.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and follow product specifications and production schedules accurately.
  • Set up and operate packaging machines in line with requirements.
  • Stage packaging materials such as film, cartons, and labels as per specifications.
  • Coordinate with the mixer to ensure timely availability of products for packaging.
  • Apply correct labels and/or printing to packages according to guidelines.
  • Assemble cartons and inspect packaging for correct product, weight, seal integrity, and labeling.
  • Pack and label cartons and pallets as per specifications and ensure proper storage in designated areas.
  • Notify management promptly about any deviations from standards or machine malfunctions.
  • Complete production reports accurately and ensure timely submission.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and ensure all equipment is maintained properly.
  • Supervise, train, and guide team members as required.
  • Adhere to quality control, safety, and food safety protocols, including GMPs, and document compliance as needed.
  • Perform ATP testing and ensure equipment is properly sanitized.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of retail product lines.
  • Strong reading and math comprehension skills, including knowledge of the metric system.
  • Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic expertise with the ability to perform non-major maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in supervising and training team members.
  • Tow motor certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously, with the capacity to handle film rolls weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs and access platforms to operate equipment effectively.
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
